Ingredients
- 1 pound of protein
- 2 white onions
sliced - 2 carrots
rangiri - 3 Yukon gold potatoes
peeled, cubed - 2 cloves of garlic
minced - 1 box Japanese curry roux
- 5 cups of water
wet - White rice
- 1 tbsp tomato paste (optional)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp ginger
minced(optional)
Recipe
- Mise en place …in a dutch oven
- Sear protein then remove
- Sauté onions
- Add garlic, cook 1-2 minutes
- Add carrots and potatoes, cook 3 minutes
- Put protein back
- Add optional ingredients
- Add 5 cups of water
- Scrape and incorporate fond
- Simmer with lid on for 20 minutes or until potatoes are done
- Add roux one cube at a time with a ladle and a stirring instrument (chop sticks help)
- Simmer 15 minutes
- Serve à la rice
